2008-01-31 Mike Vincent hospitalized. Need for help. posted by FAT BMX Magazine
Mike Vincent is a BMX rider who has been a prominent fixture in the sport for many years. Mike has worked as a judge for all of the major competitions, including the X Games, LG Action Sports World Tour, AST Dew Tour, and the former Gravity Games. He has also been a part of most of the core BMX competitions, including Rebel Jam and the CFB events. Mike is also a regular at any Los Angeles track bike gatherings and all around a great guy. Some of you may have already heard about Mike's terrible accident two weeks ago. While riding his bicycle on the way to work he was struck by a car. Although he sustained minimal body injuries, he did sustain major head trauma. After multiple brain surgeries in the initial days, Mike looked to be headed towards a speedy recovery. He was lucid and talkative. He even managed to tell the doctors that he didn't eat meat along with asking to go to 7-11 for Gatorade.

2008-01-31 Sunday Bikes Press Release regarding Aaron Ross posted by FAT BMX Magazine
The first time I heard about Aaron Ross was from an Empire BMX ad with him doing a barspin bunnyhop over a tennis court net. This blew me away because I remembered doing lines using the tennis nets down the street from my house. I knew how tall they were. Could this guy actually be barspinning a tennis court net? I had to see more. At the time, Aaron was in the middle of filming for his first Empire video. When his part came out it confirmed how good he was on a bike to me. Not too long after that, I got to meet him at the Vancouver Metro Jam. I remember him doing tricks that were leaning in the direction that I thought riding would eventually be headed. In addition to that, one of the most interesting things that I noticed was how nice he was as a person. That really stuck out in my head. Was it possible to be a totally amazing bike rider while actually being an incredibly humble and nice guy at the same time? Here was the proof.

“I met Chris at the Dew Tour Finals in Orlando. He was going 4 feet higher than everyone on everything. We decided that for 2008 we would allow our pro team to pick the entire flow team and when Brian Hunt told me his pick was Chris-I was stoked. Chris is an amazing rider not to mention he works at Union Cycle in Attleboro. Plan on seeing lots more of Mr. Childs this year. Welcome to the team Chris!"
