Last summer I was lucky enough to go visit Brighton for the first time during Brighton Aint Ready 2. I had a great time and the resulting DVD (which as you can probably guess, will be online soon) came out amazing. But today let’s take a moment to enjoy some of the clips that didn’t make it into the final video. This should definitely give you an idea of how the standard was for the DVD since a lot of these clips are truly amazing. If you enjoyed this, go give my story I wrote about my trip to Brighton a read:
Back in December 2007 Edd Allen (Seventies videographer) and Sebastian Keep came up with the idea to spend 6 months in Brighton and invite groups of riders (from brands that Seventies distro) to stay in an apartment whilst all the time filming for a full length video. It was such a compelling concept that in true Seventies style we ran with it regardless of there being a budget available. Two days after the first discussion Edd and Sebastian were flat hunting in Brighton, come New Years Eve and they were partying the night away in a luxury loft apartment with a group of BMXers! The end result was a NORA cup nominated video that received critical acclaim throughout the BMX community.
Fast forward 6 years and although the basic concept was the same almost everything else had changed. We found a new apartment directly opposite the recently redesigned Level concrete park and recruited Mike King to be the full time filmer/editor along with Eisa Bakos as photographer and live in chef. This combined with a new generation of riders and six years of riding progression left us confident to do it all again!
