Paying a bit of homage to the Supercross event going on as the mainstay, Monster Energy threw a completely unique event that combined racing with dirt jumping on a switchable course. Two paths, two riders, two runs, and the lowest combined score counts. Yup, each rider could choose his destiny, going for speed or tricks and the scoring system laid out for the judges would make the call.
Done in a bracket style with 12 riders: round 1, round 2, semi-finals, finals…you only really have to look at the results to appreciate how diverse this event can really be.
