I was driving home from the bakeshop down a dark backroad when i noticed an animal wandering in the street. At first I thought it was a small deer but as I got close I saw it was a dog. I avoided the dog and prayed that the person driving behind me was paying attention and noticed it. I reversed down the road and cornered the dog into this opening of a dirt road. I noticed a few things about her, she looked to be a pitbull mix, was dirty, she seemed to have nursed puppies, was skinny, and seemed really confused. So I knew to use caution with her. I called her toward the car and she was wondering around it I tried my best to read her behavior and I used some crumbs from a muffin package i had in my car to keep her near me. I called the police and they took about 15 minutes to arrive so I used that time to slowly open up to her and by the time the cop showed up i was petting her. The officer called Animal control over and over without an answer so he was confused on what to do and asked if I would take her home for the night. I immediately said yes, I had my wife drive over with food and water and she was terribly hungry and dehydrated. It took the next 2 hours to get her into my car. At home we set her up in the garage and we set her up with food, water, and a bed and she eventually fell asleep. The next day we cleaned her up and waited for animal control to arrive. The AC officer was an awesome guy and he immediately gave us the terrible news that she had been dumped on the road and was used for breeding and was about 10 years old. My heart broke.. In fear of her ending up at a shelter and not being adopted, We decided to foster her for the time being and figure out what will happen next. As the next 2 days passed we have noticed her behavior change and she turned out to be the sweetest most caring and loyal dog i have ever met. We love her and she loves us and her new home and we are going to do what ever it takes to take care of her. I hope this video will open up a few eyes and people will realize just how many beautiful animals across the world are being mistreated and are waiting in a shelter for someone to open their hearts and give them a second chance.
